Paulson Kalu - This World | Paulson Kalu home sweet home

The song “This World” by Paulson Kalu is perhaps one very touching piece of the complexities and mysteries of life. These lyrics in Pidgin English, “Oh, this world, nobody go say e fit understand the world; the way the world dey waka, nobody go say e fit to understand,” throw more light on how enigmatic life seems to be and the challenges one faces to decipher the way of the world.

Paulson Kalu, also known as Paulson Kalu-Afrikhanah, is a highlife musician from Akanu Ohafia, Abia State, Nigeria. He started with the Martin Brothers Dance Band and worked his way to hook up with Erasmus Jenewari during the Biafra war, and later joined Stephen Osadebe’s band later on. It was under Osadebe that he grew and developed his philosophical style of music.

In Onitsha, he formed the Africana Dance Band and came to prominence for his philosophical lyrics and evergreen songs like Ama Ndi Ana Eze. His music touches on serious themes that appeal to different generations with his signature philosophical lyrics.

Moving on to a further transition into evangelism, Kalu now runs the Paulson Kalu Evangelistic Foundation International, which does charitable works and has also been involved in spreading positive messages. His legacy in music, his works, and his support for society emphasize profound impacts on cultural and humanitarian fronts.
