Rev. Patrick Obasi, popularly known as Patty Obassey, was a Nigerian gospel recording artist and vocalist.  Regarded as one of the early pioneers of Igbo christian music, Patty Obasi rose to prominence in 1980 upon the release of his album Nwa Mama Iwota.

Rev Patty obasi passed away on the 16th of October 2012 after battling with Kidney failure.

Patty Obasi is a household name in the early 80’s and 90’s with songs like Bianu Kanyi Kele Jehova, Onye Isi Agha, Ubanese,
Okara Akapa, Ochichi Amakaekwu, Uwa bu Ahia, Ezi Nwayi Di Uko e.t.c.
